Clayton M. Martin

Clayton M. Martin, 79, of Jefferson County, FL went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 30, 2013.

Born on March 20, 1933, Clayton enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and nurturing his cherished grape vineyard. He also was an author and penned many articles for Florida Outdoors Magazine, as well as numerous books and short stories reminiscing his childhood and formative years.

Clayton is survived by his wife Frances Carolyn, step-child, special friend and caretaker Marvin Beard and wife Sandy, as well as step-children Gary Beard, Dale Beard, Gail Davis and husband Paul. He was preceded in death by his father, James U. Martin, mother, Ora L. Martin, wife Betty Ruth, and son Terry, as well as numerous brothers and two sisters.

Clayton served his country for twenty years and retired from the United States Air Force in November 1971.
